Day number two of spring...and there are a few things lookin' like spring!!
I think we have renters! |
We got another first sign of spring today:
The first Robin of the year! |
He wouldn't show me his face...just his behind! |
But sadly, this is what the bigger picture looks like here today...
Other than the birds, it still looks like winter... |
My Man came in last evening and said that Annabelle was gettin' a pretty big bag, so she should be calving before the end of the month if my Cowculator is correct.
Well for now, I'll just keep catchin' up on my inside chores...daydreaming 'bout t-shirts, palm leaf hats and ridin' in the sunshine~
I am sweating here and very crabby. Very crabby. I'd take your snow ANY day. SAD (Summer Affected Disorder)
ReplyDeleteThat is great that you have renters! It sure looks the same here, we saw the ground for the last few days then this morning changed all that!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get the songbirds to come to my feeders. They just don't hang out here. But we do have a lot of swans in the fields across the road right now. Unfortunately with my little camera they'd just be white blobs so I won't bother taking photos.
ReplyDeleteCowculator...that's funny. I love seeing all the new calves in the fields.
ReplyDeleteYour place looks like my place..only we have MORE snow. grrrr
I love watching birds and wildlife, very soothing.
Your Robin is so puffy and cute. We've had them for a while down here... but I don't have rhubarb yet! So, in that respect, you are a step ahead of me!!
ReplyDeletegreat pics..as usual, Karen. Love the ones of the drive...wished I were along, even tho it looked cold. Your part of Oregon looks and must have the same temps as in in my part of Nevada.
ReplyDeleteOh, yea..Happy Bday to Cowboy. He sure looks good for 12.
glad you have renters and a robin, I think that would be a sure sign of spring! We have 8 inches of snow and wind here, ewwww.
ReplyDeleteAll fluffed up against the cold. Built in down coat!
ReplyDeleteJust heard the weather forecast, colder than normal until mid April... only good thing is that it will slow the melt in the flood risk areas.
ReplyDeleteWe are warm at the moment - 70's. Grass is greening up (lots of rain/flooding), spring flowers are up..
ReplyDeleteBy Thursday we'll be near freezing.
Some robins just like to get in early to get all the good apartments. Can't blame them.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed catching up on all the goings on - Colt sounds like he's getting into the swing!
Always a real pleasure!.....Spring isnt far away!
ReplyDeleteIt gives me hope when I see signs of spring around the country. We had 6 inches of snow on Sunday and at least another 4 yesterday. I say enough already!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see signs of spring for you!! The robins have been here all winter, in the snow, so they aren't the harbingers of spring I had hoped for. We do have quite a bit of bird song in the morning and the air has a different quality to it.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, hope they stay, I was thinking of adding a couple more Bluebird houses at moms place this year. Next week I'll be home and get to help with the new garden they are putting in across the front of the front yard..:-)
ReplyDeleteYour spring looks just like our spring!!!
ReplyDeletehaha
Thanks for sharing!
Leontien
The horses here are all convinced that there's much more grass showing than there really is, but fortunately they've all kept their winter coats on because we're supposed to get more snow in Iowa. :P
ReplyDeleteNo daffodils here but no snow either. Still lots of wet stuff and raging creeks. I haven't even seen any birds yet so you are ahead of me in that regard. I keep hoping it's coming. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe birds are back up here! But my rhubarb isnt up yet! LOL
ReplyDeleteGood to see your Renters! The big picture does look cold. Enjoy it all.
ReplyDeleteThat poor little cold robin looks like it's about to burst!! :)
ReplyDeletethe Robin thinks he took a wrong turn and ended up at the north pole.
