Photo Tag

My truckin' buddy Ed (the truck drivin' photographer) at Thoughts from the Road photo tagged me.

So, I was to go to my 10th folder and post the 10th photo...well that file only had 8 pics in it...so here's my 10x8...

Five Greatest Joys in Nature

I was tagged a VERY LONG time ago by my wonderful blogger friend Celeste at Celestial Ramblings. She lives in a high rise in Chicago...how far away from rural SE Oregon is that?!? A long away!!!

But, I love her blog! Her photos, stories, and wildlife knowledge keeps me going back for more~~

So, this meme asks me to name MY Five Greatest Joys in Nature. It took me a long time to figure out my answer. Then it dawned on me how simple the answer really is.

I haven't visited exotic places or seen any of the greatest natural wonders of the world...but, I have everything I want or need right here...which gives me the greatest joy I could ever imagine.

The Joy of Sight

Gazing into the trusting eye of a
best friend is truly amazing.

The Joy of Smell

Every horse's nose smells different...true!!!
Have you ever had the privilege to
sniff noses with a horse?
I am truly blessed...I do it daily...

The Joy of Hearing

Hearing nothing~~

Or hearing chaos...it's all good...
just a day in the life.

The Joy of Taste

There's nothing better tasting than
home grown food.

The Joy of Feeling

Feeling your friend, a warm fire,
and the love of your soul mate.

~~~~~~~~~~
I'm not going to tag anyone in particular, but I'd love to hear what your five Greatest Joys in Nature are.
If you'd like to play, please do!! Just leave me a comment, 'cause I don't want to miss it!
I've been Tagged~~
I've been graciously tagged by Jane Augenstein~My World In Pictures! Thank you Jane for the honor. Jane's got a couple of beautiful horses and the cutest lil' spotted donkey, Pokey...he's a charmer!
So, I'm supposed to list 6 random things about my self and then tag a few other bloggers to do the same. So here we go...
1. Knock on wood...I've only broken one bone in my life...when I was 5, we were playing with the neighbor kids, and they thought it would help me to learn to ride a bicycle by propping me up on the said bike and send me down the front lawn. It had a nice slope to it...with a big ditch at the bottom. I was supposed to steer the bike over the 12 inch plank that crossed the ditch and onto the road on the other side. Well, I'm sure you can see where this is heading...yep, right into the ditch. I broke my collar bone. But, didn't tell mom until we had driven all the way from Oregon to Minnesota on vacation.
2. I'm kind of on the petite side like my mom; 5 ft tall, 105 pounds.
3. I have 2 brothers, one 3 years older then me, and one 3 years younger than me. I also have 2 half sisters who are 15+ years older than me. None of them have the horse bug. My younger brother does enjoy riding with me when he comes to visit.
4. My mom tried to support my horse disease as a child, but when I would ask her to hold my horse, she would say "Ok, but if it moves I'm letting go." Thanks Mom!!
5. As a child, my parents bought me dolls to play with as any normal parent would...I kind of played with them. But, then I got a stuffed dog...I immediately became the best veterinarian in our part of the county! Good-bye dolls...
6. My Man and I bought a nice SilverLite 3 horse trailer with living quarters 4 years ago; we'll have it paid off by the time we retire. Our plan for retirement is to load up a couple of good trail horses, travel the west and ride all the trails we can find. But, by the looks of our current retirement funds, we'll have to work until we're 100 to be able to afford to retire...I hope I can still get on my horse when I'm 100.
There you have it...now, I'd like to find out more tidbits about:
Heather at Ramblings of the Shy and Insecure who I'm sure really isn't as shy as she says she is!!
Julie at Oregon at Heart ~ who is a new blogger and one of my best friends from high school...I'm sure she has some tasty tidbits that I don't know about ;~)
Heart of a Cowgirl ~ This sweet gal has beautiful horses and makes fantastic cowgirl jewlery.
So, ya wanna know some scraps 'bout me???
I've been Scrapped!
Well, I've been "Scrapped" by purdy lil' Vaquerogirl at California Cowgirl. Yep, I gotta spill the beans about me...10 tidbits of interest. Well, I don't know how interesting any of this could be, but it's always fun to play blogger games!
1. It's a sad story, I got my first pony for my 6th birthday and she foundered so bad we had to put her down.
2. Then the first horse my mom bought me was a total two-in-one surprise...I came home from school and there was this cute lil' filly! WoW did my eyes get big!
3. I've been married more than once...or twice...But, I've been married for almost 10 years to my best friend and the best, most sincere man on earth. He spoils me rotten and loves doing it! What more could there be?
4. Bling? I hate bling! I'm NOT a bling person. I don't follow fashion...at the Columbia Circuit Finals rodeo I went looking at the booths to find something good to bring home...bling, bling, bling, everywhere I went...blagh!!! I can't wait for the Jordon Valley Big Loop rodeo in May...now that's my kind of shoppin'...rawhide, wool 'n leather. I even wear the same style of Wranglers from 20 years ago. And I like to wear Packers...period.
5. When I was in high school, I worked at the local A & W with my good buddy Rick Dancer as a car hop...change belt and the whole bit...well, not the roller skates. Rick was the cook...love that man!
6. Dancing is my second favorite pastime after horses...two-step, waltz, west-coast swing, east-coast swing, cha cha...love them all...I'd take more ballroom dancing if it were available locally. Dancin's the one time I like to wear high heels and a dress ;~)
7. I love all types of music rock, alternative, country, but my favorite is "Cowboy" music...Ian Tyson, Wylie Gustafson, Dan Roberts, R.W. Hampton, Bren Hill, Red Stegall. I play a lil' bit of guitar and sing a lil' too...but haven't for years...the guitar is in the back of the spare closet.
8. We haven't had TV for over 3 years...we decided we don't have time for it and it's all crap anyhow. We have NetFlix and Sirius radio...love the new "Willie's Place" on Sirius...Honky Tonk 24/7 Yahoo!!! We dance in the kitchen when the mood strikes!
9. I like to bake and cook when I have time...when I don't, and am in a hurry I hate it!
10. My first truck & trailer was a Toyota 5 speed with a 1 horse trailer that was rebuilt (numerous times). I've grown since then...I'm on my 2nd 1 ton and have two trailers; a 4 horse gooseneck stock trailer and a 3 horse with living quarters.
Well there ya be!
Let's see...I get to "Scrap" a few other of my blogger friends. I'm choosin'...
My Pard Tracey at Mustang Diaries
The lovely Lisa at Laughing Orca Ranch
Mr. Ed (pun intended) a fantastic photographer
at Thoughts from the Road
And PrairieRunner Linda, the lady I would truly love to meet at
Hold Onto God
My sweet friend Kathleen at Life Earth Sky posted this lil' game on her blog, and I thought it'd be fun to play!
I'm not going to tag 10, but if you want to play, leave me a comment so I know that you played the game. I'd love to see your answers!
DIRECTIONS:
1. Put Your iTunes on Shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. You must write down the name of the song no matter how silly it sounds!
4. Put any comments in brackets after the song name.
5. Tag at least 10 friends.
6. Anyone tagged has to do the same, because fun pointlessness spreads like a virus.
