Health & Life 2018 and Beyond
The last three years have been a bit of a roller coaster.
Sept 2015: Total Left Knee Replacement
Oct 2016-Jan 2017: Breast Cancer
Nov 2017: Total Right Knee Replacement
That one in the middle...cancer...that was quite the surprise to say the least! Breast cancer doesn't run in my family, so even though I have always done my annual check up, it shocked me when my doctor says "What's this?" Huh??!!
Yep, guess that's a lump :(
Yep, after the biopsy, it's stage 2 cancer.
Treatment: removal of the lump and 3 lymph nodes then six weeks of radiation...all of which happened during the worst winter in central and eastern Oregon in decades (that's another story in itself!!).
God blessed me, and I didn't need chemo.
Then comes the "after care"...and this is what I want to blog about. It's been an educational experience and something that I feel I need to share!
So, thanks for being here.

Wow, Karen! I'm sorry to hear of your struggles, and interested to read about your recovery and...cowboy dressage? Do you like it?

Nice to hear from you Mugs! Thanks for your concern~
DeleteWell shit. Was it a type of cancer that they expect to stay gone?
ReplyDeleteI hope your knees are better than new! What a lot to have to go through.
Thanks Andrea. Is there a cancer that never comes back in one way or another? I don't know...I've changed my lifestyle to do what I can through nutrition...not their nasty drugs. The knees are awesome!!!!
