Ed's challenge this week for Sunday Stills is to pick our two favorite shots from 2009 and explain why they are your favorites. That sounded pretty simple...until I started going through all of my photos and found that there were quite a few that I really liked.
So I had to ask myself the question "Why?"
That helped me narrow down the field to my two favorite shots for 2009...
The first one is this colorful macro photo of these tasty red peppers. When I took the photo, I was just very pleased with the color, the lighting, and the clarity of the photo...it reminded me of something I might see in a magazine.
But what made this one stand out in the crowd were the things that I didn't notice. If you read through the comments from that day's post, you'll probably crack up! My readers commented that the pepper was "yelling"..."mad"..."missing teeth (and wanted to know what I made with it)"...and that it was "singing opera!"
So this answers the question "Why"...it just goes to prove that everyone sees something different in a photo...and that your imagination can have a hay day any day!! I think that's the beauty of photography...it can take you anywhere you want to go.
Photo #2~~
Next, is a photo I used in this post. And this is special to me because I just happened to be in the right stretch of the road at the right time when this snow squall came through; and, I may never see another one. I feel I got lucky that day; so, that's why I think that this photo is one of my best of 2009.
Well, there you are with my Best pics of 2009.
