This is my first submission to Sunday Stills, a weekly photo challenge started by Linda at Just Another Day On The Prairie. Ed the "Truck Driving Photographer" at Thoughts from the Road is giving us our weekly assignments.
This week's challenge was "Holiday Lights." Ed gave us a pretty good photo tip which without I would have failed miserably!
We don't have much opportunity for Christmas Lights out here...we don't even have our tree up yet! So, I drug my lil' 2 foot fake tree out of the closet and gave it a whirl. The tree is missing ornaments and a top, but I stuck a couple of rockin' horses underneath for a lil' somethin'.
I really do like how the lights had reflected their color on the wall behind the tree, and the book shelf to the left had a pretty reflection too.
Thanks Linda and Ed for doing this challenge!! It's been fun and I learned a lot this past week as I experimented.
I think you did very well with your picture. I made a couple attempts and couldn't get what I wanted. So I was a loser and didn't submit anything! Great job!
ReplyDeletecool light effects! neat assignment.
ReplyDeleteI like this shot, too, even without ornaments and a topper. The tree has a very simple, countrified look to it, and the lights give out such a warm glow :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo!

It looks very nice! Taking photos of lights can be challenging, I obviouslyl haven't learned the trick yet! ;) I tried last night in the snow with little success. Maybe I'll blame it on my camera, LOL!
ReplyDeleteVery nice photograph! I really like it! I struggled with my tree too..it still only has lights, may get some decorations on it later today:)
ReplyDeleteIt sure wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!! :-)
