~If my husband cared as much for me as he does his horse,
I'd be a better wife.~
~Ada Monroe 1888~
Actually, that quote might need to be turned around for some of us horse crazy gals!!
We're supposed to hit a whoppin' 23 degrees today...all I can say is "come on spring!!!"
BRRR!!! We had a warm up over the weekend - in the high 40s but it's back to being cold and frozen again. At least there's no mud....
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely brrr weather. It's cold here too, staying below freezing all day and the kind of cold that feels frigid when outside, and means carrying water to melt the sheep waterer and keep it usable at all. They say it might warm up on Wednesday and I am more than ready to see the ice go. The skies though have been pretty and your shot is a good example
ReplyDeleteIt warmed up for a few days here, but all I can say is I'm glad it's below freezing again. I was already tired of mud...
ReplyDeleteI love the new look of your blog! You are right, that quote should be turned around to mean the gals!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new background!!! Here's hoping spring comes soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Gtyyup, Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteWOW, I really like the new background.
Hope you get some warm weather soon.
the cold is getting old....however, I don't think its going to leave soon. I was thinking today that we have maybe 2 1/2 more months at the least. On the bright side, the cold creates some unique photography opportunities! Just stay inside in the warm as much as you can!
ReplyDeleteNice new look!
ReplyDeleteYah, 2 is cold. We're goin negative tonite. Which reminds me....I should go check the propane.
I LOVE the fuzzy burro??? and is the background you?
ReplyDeleteJust remember every day the day light is stick'n around a bit longer and soon it will be too hot and we'll be b'chn about that!
I love the cowgirl quotes you put at the beginning of your posts!
ReplyDeleteYeah ... good ol' wintertime ... :)
Having to be out in the cold winter ....doing chores.....kinda sucks.
ReplyDeleteWe have had a warmer winter so far then last winter however.
ya know, I have been reading these books about a cattle ranch that was settled in British Columbia, area in the 1930's. They had a 4 million arcre ranch!!!!!!
and boy the stories and hardships they tell make me cringe.
they are working those horses, driving those cattle in 40 below weather. It is pretty amazing.
Makes me feel like a wus.
Um, I think I'll OWN up to that.
We had this last year. Hang in there. Spring will come, not as soon as we'd like it to, but it will come. meanwhile, keep shooting, your shots are perfection.
ReplyDelete2 degrees. I don't know how you do it. Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is hell- type cold! You are one tough gal fer sure!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the burro!
It finally warmed up here but it's breezy and that just makes it seem colder. Spring must be coming......I got my seed catalog in the mail.
ReplyDeleteI have been watching the weather reports and man it has been cold down you way!!!
ReplyDeleteI dont like winter, I dont like the cold LOL, we have been below freezing here for a week, it is a lot more work, heat tapes, carrying buckets of water, putting lots of clothes on! LOL It will go away soon right! LOL ;0)
Oh how I know the feeling of cold! It has been so terribly cold here for the last week, and working in it is so miserable! I feel for ya, I really do!!!
ReplyDeleteAww what a cute donkey. I hear you about the cold, we have warmed up a little here this week, but I sure want spring as well.
ReplyDeleteI love that quote, but I do agree it should be switched around as well!
What can I say? Thats cold, damn cold.
ReplyDeleteA mild -11 here this morning. Hope you have a warmer day! Beautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteCold but beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteJeni~That cute lil' fuzzy burro is the one and only Stetson! And yes, the background is me...it's a few years back riding Ol' Man Toby and ponying a training horse named Dakota. My younger brother took the pic it's SOTC...middle of summer and all the dust made such a wonderful natural mystic look.
ReplyDeleteWendy~I'd like to know the name of the books you mentioned...love that type of reading!
I hear ya! I am tired of these freezing temperatures. It about makes me nuts raising a few pigs. I constantly worry about if they are warm enough inside their barn, etc.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for spring.
Stay warm!!
I call the high teens and lower 20's great menopausal weather lol esp. if you have to walk in the woods or clean out a paddock...and it feels like a downright tropical heat wave after the below zeros!
