The old men, Whiskey and Toby, on the other side of the fence
just stood there
watching them and said
"I remember when I was that stupid....neiiiiiigggghhhhh!!!"

After all the fun was over, it was back to business.
My Man snatched this jumbo sized curry comb up for me at the Winnemucca sale two weeks ago...I absolutely love it!!! It really tackles the mud.
As you can see, it's way bigger than the regular sized ones. I used one like it over at Todd's and loved it then...so as I gazed longingly at this one, My Man took the hint and forked out the cash for me...what a Man!!! ;~)
Hah! It doesn't take much to makea horse-lovin' cowgirl happy, does it? :D
ReplyDeleteLove that photo of Colt's ballet! I'd crop it just a bit and play with it. That photo is worthy of a horse/animal photo contest! I've not seen anything that good for a long while.
Your commentary totally made your post, though. And the old men...lol! Reminded me of the Muppets' old men. Remember them?? lol!
Yep, our environment's similar to yours right now....snow, wind and dust. Dry as a bone. :P

Cool!!
Those big shedding combs are great - and thanks for the cool pics!
ReplyDeletelol I love the colt ballet pic. Thats great.
ReplyDeleteOh, golly that one of Colt is hysterical!
ReplyDeleteAll you need to do is photoshop that fence out of the pic of him and Brego playing...
I think I'm going to have to invest in one of those metal curries for Sandy.
Very nice pics, they look like they were having a blast and just horsing around... pun intended..:-)
ReplyDeleteColt is practicing to be a steeplechase horse; going over hedges and water jumps??? Ya think? It is a really neat picture. Don't you just love it when you take a picture and get something unexpected like that? What fun!!! I like to set my camera on a sports setting and snap 5 or 6 pictures in a row. That's when you get some really good ones of the action.
ReplyDeleteI love to see horses just being horses, your photos captured that perfectly. I love the one of Colt at full stretch, it reminds me of those old English hunting prints when they always painted horses in that position!
ReplyDeleteSpring fever! I need a new shed blade, mine is old and dull. I like 'em new and sharp!!:)
ReplyDeleteThis time of year, you've gotta go with the big guns. I love the look on my guys' faces when I start brushing them with the push broom.
ReplyDeleteOh - and I know exactly what Colt is doing in that great shot - posing for this rug.

I love that picture of Colt leaping in the air! It's great. And the snow and the dust....worst of both irritating riding conditions....LOL! At least you don't have mud though. I've got some to spare if you want any! ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL!Great pictures, especially Colt's ballet move! I love to watch them play like that.
ReplyDeleteI love your horses! That ballet shot of Colt is AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteI Like the way those boys are celebrating the warmer weather! I could use a large cury comb like yours... my horse are very hairy and that would sure cover alot of territory!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! They were full of it! Love the curry comb. I use mine to get the stickers out of Lil Man's fur!
ReplyDeleteah the metal curries work good on the dogs too, which is why I cant find my new one. I should get the bigger one too! Great pics! wish it was that dry here LOL just mud, just mud....and mud caked horses.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for the wonderful comments.
ReplyDelete7msn...That is too funny!!! Colt just needs some spots to hang with those ponies!!! Thanks for the comment and photo! My Man always enjoys comments! Ok...where's the pics of the broom on your herd???!!! :~) Will be way too cute!
Prairierunner...if they had another one, I'd have gotten ya one...I only saw the one and we snagged it!
Tracey...I've been wanting that PhotoShop software...maybe this year sometime...
Sometimes I think the comment thingy hates me. I could have sworn I'd left a comment here earlier. Love the shot of Colt leaping through the air, nice capture :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of ballet moves! The boys look like they were having a blast. We have a couple of those shedding springs but I got a flat metal shedding comb that really pulls the shedding hair out and gets the mud off. I'll see if I can get a pic of it. Our guys are just starting to shed some hair.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that one picture of Colt doing "ballet" is so funny!! I love it!! I was laughing so hard when I saw it and then read what you wrote!! it's always fun to watch them play and cut up!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. I love your photographic eye. There's a reason I'm so fond of geldings. They make me think of frat boys.
ReplyDeleteHow can we enter spring without a good curry comb! Goodness the stuff those combs can take off a horse!
ReplyDeleteLove the ballet shot! Loved your comment even better!
