More Branding Photos

I had a request for more photos...but I think what Merri at The Equestrian Vagabond was talking about was the Wrangler butt shot from Wordless Wednesday!!

My favorite comment from the WW post was from Paula at the Broken Y Ranch...hope you got your speech back girl ;~)

Ah, well...just blame it all on the two of them!! Only posting four photos for the Sunday Stills challenge was a challenge in itself...I liked lots of them for different reasons...so, here are a few of my other favs...

My Man and Whiskey...we're riding out from
ranch headquarters to go gather the victims...er...pairs.

I love this old ranch. The gates, fences and barns
are so photogenic. See the cow in the paddock?
The two lil' ones on each side of her
are twins...the ranch's third
set this year...so far.

OK...I guess this one's for Merri ;~)

It was a sea of calves...waiting their turn...

Hmmmmm...maybe my favorite shot of the day...
~Cowboys and the Boots They Wear~

Ty's horse, Colt & Whiskey waiting with the
separated cows as we work another bunch.

And this is why My Man's hat stunk...but
I like the photo.

The hardest job...wrestlin' calves into the table...
but he loves doing it!

'3J' brand

My Man trying his hand at branding while
Jerry coaches him. He did a good job!

A few of the finished products.
It was a long day and those calves were
sure happy to mother up and get some
well deserved milk!

  3. Great photo essay of cowboy life. I love that old corral too, and my fave is the boot shot. It's the little details that make it interesting; the well worn, muddy boots that are all about a day's work; the braiding detail on the chaps, the custom made spur straps, and the just-the-right-length jeans.

  4. Your eye as always is perfection, and your ability to tell a story is wonderful. I want you to undertand the historgram and try stopping some of your shots down. If I can get something that makes sence, I'll show you how to do that. Keep on shooting, girlfriend. You have what no amount of technical knowledge can give you, the eye of an artist.

  9. Great shots! I love the cowboy adn boots picture too. And can I just say a thank you for using the word "paddock" in your post. I had a discussion with Malcolm last week in which he told me there was no such thing out west. It was an eastern word. Now I can officially tell him "told you so!"

  10. It looks like so much fun!!!! I wish we branded here! And I want some chaps!!!!! With fringe! I think I'm getting me some, make me feel like a real cowgirl! My daughter laughs when I say that and reminds me how I dont really need them and how hot I'd be in the summer when its 90+ degrees!
