Signs of spring...well at least in the Willamette Valley! Last week while in Portland, there were lovely flowers, like these pansies, growing everywhere. My friend's lawn is even ready for it's first mowing of the year!
Not so here in Harney County. You couldn't even buy a pansy if you wanted to...not one store has spring flowers yet...they'd just freeze and die anyhow.
But, the sage rats are starting to stir...and I know this because Bella Jo caught one and was playing "toss the rat" in the yard with it!
lovely! And ick to the rat!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese ar lovely... whimsical beauty! Love the purples ..and light shining is so warming. The droplets on the petals are gorgeous! beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteKiki~
What's a sage rat?
ReplyDeleteDarcC~That's a good questions, which most folks who haven't been reading my blog for too long might ask. Take a scroll down to the bottom of my page and you'll find the "tags." Click on "sage rats" and it will bring up two posts regarding sage rats. As alfalfa growers, we are plagued every year by hundreds/thousands of these nasty ground squirrel type varmints. They do a lot of damage to the crop and the land.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, its amazing how the weather changes from one side of Oregon to the other. Where are the pics of toss the rat..:-))
ReplyDeleteAh, spring flowers! Can't wait! You should be getting a package today with the essential oil for Colt.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of the flowers! We got a couple of inches of snow here in Ohio and maybe up to 6 more inches of the white stuff are due tonight.
ReplyDeleteGood girl Bella Joe; toss the rat! LOL
oooo i bet you're happy to see spring! :)
ReplyDeleteI am sorely missing flowers!
ReplyDeletenothing growing here yet! I would love to see flowers!
ReplyDeleteNothing growing here either. We've still got snow on the ground, but it is beginning to melt....and we've got gophers! gah! The electricity in our barn burned out the day before yesterday. The electrician says that a gopher probably chewed the lines going up to the barn and shorted out the electricity. So now we've got to pay several hundred dollars to rewire everything!
ReplyDeleteDamn Gophers! I hope the one that chewed our electric line....fried a painful death!
Your photos are gorgeous! I really like the black and white and the delicate water droplets.

Lisa~Thank you for the complements...but I have to say that the last photo is actually in color. But now that you've pointed it out, it does look like B&W!
