This week's Sunday Stills photo challenge is Odds and Ends. We've all got plenty of them around don't we?
On a kitchen shelf is this odd combination of
a wine cork collection, my mom's old ricer (to make
potato rice for Lefse), a metal container for tea,
and a mini mixer truck.
These coaster aren't really odd, but they are
very special to me. My friend Debbie does
a lot of wood burning and she made these for me.
My sister-in-law found these at a garage
sale and immediately thought of us. It's just
ceramic with a golden glaze. I used a flash
and I thought the photo turned out pretty good.
This is an antique bolus applicator used to
get the bolus (big cow pills) down a cow's throat.
Check out some other interesting Odd and Ends in the comments section here.
LOL that "balling"gun as we call them isn't an antique......we still use ours! Post your lefse recipe please, please. I love it but I've never made it. I think you'll be loving your new camera??!!
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother had a similar ricer in her kitchen utensil drawer.
ReplyDeleteI love the looks of the ceramic piece. I have some of my mom and grandmother's old utensils that I still use.

LOL John wayne! Thats hilarious. That balling gun isn't an antique we still have one but we do have a newer model but the newer one didnt always work as well as that one so we kept it.
ReplyDeleteYour new camera is working great! Like the paint color in your living room.
ReplyDeleteI love your post! And, John Wayne...wow! He's nearly the real deal! I am so glad I can take my pills easily! OMG! Thank you for your visit to my blog! Oh...we have the same camera bag...Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun it is to see everyone's odds and ends. Nice new camera. I got a new one too, but am having trouble weaning myself off the old one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments.
Happy New Year!
Very cool, ya gotta respect JW..:-)
ReplyDeleteVery neat pictures. It amazes me that so many of us collect the same little 'odds & ends', namely the potatoe ricer, the little Sleepy Time tin and wine corks. Great job.
ReplyDeleteGreat odd and ends Karen, though I'm not to sure how I'd feel about Big John watching my every move!! LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat post you have some really neat and unique things in your home. I would like John to come visit.
ReplyDeleteYou're the 4th person with a cork collection. What does that say about you, eh? lol!
ReplyDeleteThe little truck reminded me Ed and his toys. hehe!
Thanks for sharing. It's fun to see your odds and ends.

I like your pictures. That big cow pill thing looks handy for a big dog that is savvy about butter or cheese to hide pills. Regular Guy.
ReplyDeleteNew camera is great! So what do you think about them remaking True Grit?
