A Photo Shoot with Tat the Barn Cat

Tat the Barn Cat doesn't get a lot of screen time here on the blog...but that's not sayin' that he's not a valued member of the ranch...which of course he is!!

Tat the Cat is...well...you know...a cat.

One that has his own way of doing things.

He's about 13 years old now, and he's just recently
decided that it's OK to be petted...see...
he has to do things on his "own" time.

But I asked Tat if he would like a "spotlight" in the blog.

At first he pretended not to hear me.

Then when I finally got his attention...Tat gave me
the "oh...who me?...well maybe look."

It was a beautiful, sunny day...but the wind was
howlin'...he was a lil' flustered with
his hair style. I told him that
all the "hot" photo models used fake
wind to get the affect that he had goin'...

Hmmmm...he wasn't buyin' into my story...

And, the glamor was wearing off...all too quickly...

Tat was headin' stage right at a pretty quick pace...

Yep...this is definitely "The End."

Have a great week!

  1. Hey! Tat's a manx! Or is that a man made short tail? Love the "who-me" look- pure cattitude! My Bubby is 12 now, and he's starting to fade. He's lost a lot of weight, and I can't keep his fur from matting up. Deworming didn't help, and he gets all the food he wants. Guess he's just getting old.

  2. Shirley, I knew you'd spot his tail right off. His tail is actually a "horse-made" short tail. He got stepped on waaaaaay back when. He also got kicked in the hip and got his leg popped out of the socket. But he healed up fine with the vet's help. It's so hard to see them get old. The cold winters don't help. He gets to come into the house when it's really cold, but he mostly prefers to be outside.

  4. Tat the Cat is one fine cat! But it doesn't look like he is one for sitting for the camera. "Get lost photo lady! I'm an Aristo-cat kind of cat, don't bug me!"
    Beautiful kitty!

  6. I love the shot where he's in shadow and looking straight at the camera. He's a cutie for sure.

  8. Aside from his tail, its amazing the resemblance he bares to my in-laws barn cat, Ally, who is also getting on in years, and has gone from standoffish, to wanting affection in his old age. Could it be that they MT and OR cats are related? Most likely not, but how odd that they are identical in more than appearance.
Love the photos, and he was obviously enjoying the sunshine despite the wind.
