Weather for Wednesday Is...

Cold and snowy...

I don't know for sure, but it seems that the most talked about subject on personal blogs and FaceBook is the weather. Is that boring? Well, I don't think so. I enjoy seeing photos and reading stories from different parts of the world...it's amazing how different everyone's lives are.

Yesterday, we had our first snow; yep, only October 23.

The snow was melted in all but the shadowed ground by mid-day. Shortly after feeding the herd as the sun rose in the east, the glorious sun began peeking through the partly cloudy skies for the remainder of the day.

(I apologize for the fuzzy photos...my camera at 1600 ISO gets pretty grainy)

Summer's End

My favorite view

This morning, the second snow came shortly before dawn giving us more than yesterday. We'll take the moisture...we sure need it.

  1. I am not a fan of winter by any stretch of the imagination, but I sure think snow pictures are pretty, especially when you got sun to go with them.

I see on the radar that the snow is in SD right now, we are supposed to get more rain. Right now it is 70 degrees!

    Tomorrow night 30 degrees.

Who says the weather is boring?

  9. We had just a little snow yesterday, melted after two hours. I checked my photo archives and last year out first snow was November 17th.
Nice photo of Colt, he looks like he's in great shape.

  10. Wow. Snow already? I have seen so many pictures on facebook too of snow and I should be thankful I just have rain... although I think that is worse. Snow makes such a mess when it melts but I already have a mess caused by the rain. But I love the peaceful quiet that snow brings and it is so pretty!
    Beautiful pictures!

We do tend to talk about the weather a lot, I guess because it's important to rural folk! :)

  13. Fascinating photos! They look like they were taken by a professional photographer! Anyway, winter is coming. That is why my wife and I are preparing our ranch for the season. I am in charge of clearing the gutters, installing storm windows, ventilating the barn, and lubing the tractor engine. We also keep it full of fuel for emergency purposes.
