Catnip & Stetson~~The Encore

This lil' performance is by special request. Lisa at Laughing Orca Ranch, was trying to hear Catnip and Stetson munching their hay in yesterday's Wordless Wednesday photo. Stuck as the poor cowgirl is in her lonely tower, I had to oblige the best I could.

Of course, Stetson was most eager to perform and Catnip was her usual "standoffish" self...waiting in the wings until everything seemed ok to make her appearance. The set crew had too much wind blowing and that seems to have drowned out most of the soft munching, but lots of hay rustling can be heard.

A few of you asked if we "do" anything with our lil' cuties...well, initially we thought of packing with them, and we may still. But, for now, we just enjoy hearing them brea every morning and evening (and many times in between) and watch their cute lil' antics. They're just fun to have around.

  1. It's true! They don't come up for air! They are so cute- I loved watching them come down the hill at full tilt to get their groceries!

  3. Awwww! I'm not sure which I liked better, listening to and seeing your adorable long ears or listening to your sing-song happy voice. :D

No wonder those darlin's come running to you. Yeh, the hay is great, but they really just like hanging out with you.

I can't imagine ever bringing my big ol mare in the house, but I might try inviting a long ear into my room. :D

Thanks for the huge smile this morning, my friend!

  5. Awesome! They certainly are enjoying that hay, bless them. You don't have to do anything with them, if you enjoy them and they enjoy you, that is enough :)

  8. They are adorable! I love their names. Is that your own hay (that you grew) that you are feeding them?
I think it is cute how you talk to them, reminds me of how my family talks to their animals! ;)

  10. Hello there!! I followed you over here from Andrea's blog, so imagine my surprise when I saw Miss Lisa being featured in your post!! We must run with the same crowd...lol!!!

Your donkeys are precious, and your ranch looks beautiful. I am constantly trying to persuade my husband to move East. Southeast would be wonderful, but he was born and raised here in Western WA, and he is not crazy about leaving it...lol!!!
